Application
矿物油可用于：
- 悬浮凝胶用于毛细管收缩测定
- 在聚合酶链反应（PCR）反应混合物中形成蒸气屏障，防止反应在高温下蒸发
- 作为连续相，防止乳化系统中出现液滴聚结
矿物油适合用作覆盖层，以控制各种分子生物学应用中样品的蒸发和交叉污染。

与空气相比，矿物油具有更好的绝缘强度。用于电力变压器，可以增强绕组中的热量消除。
