General description

The gene RUNDC3A (RUN domain containing 3A) encodes a protein that contains the RUN domain and is mapped to human chromosome 17q21.31. The encoded protein is 400 amino acids long and is mainly expressed in the brain.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The gene RUNDC3A (RUN domain containing 3A) encodes a protein that interacts with Rap2, a small GTP-binding protein that belongs to the Ras superfamily, via the RUN domain at the N-terminus. Rap2 may be involved in neuronal functions along with effector molecule, RUNDC3A.
