General description

LanC lantibiotic synthetase component C-like 3 (LANCL3) belongs to the LanC-like (LANCL) family of proteins, and shows similarity to lanthionine synthetase component C (LanC) proteins found in prokaryotes. In humans, there are three LANCL genes- LANCL1, LANCL2 and LANCL3. LANCL3 gene is present on chromosome Xp21.1.

Application
