General description
神经胶质原纤维酸性蛋白（GFAP）是存在于星形胶质细胞中的中间丝，以10种不同的亚型进行表达。它由N端头部、中心杆和C端尾部结构域组成。GFAP位于人类染色体17q21.33。

纯化的猪脊髓 GFAP。
Application
神经胶质纤维酸性蛋白单克隆抗体适用于蛋白印迹和间接免疫荧光（2.5-5 μg/mL，使用酒精固定的大鼠脑/小脑切片）。该抗体还可用于免疫印迹（约50 kDa）、免疫组化（多聚甲醛固定的兔脑冷冻切片）和免疫细胞化学。
神经胶质纤维酸性蛋白抗体（小鼠单克隆抗体）可用于免疫细胞化学和免疫荧光。
Biochem/physiol Actions
神经胶质纤维酸性蛋白或GFAP组装与神经胶质结构的有丝分裂重塑有关。GFAP基因突变与亚历山大病有关。
神经胶质纤维酸性蛋白（GFAP）基因位点的微缺失与儿童智力残疾和面部畸形有关。GFAP水平升高与急性脑出血有关。
