General description

Immunoglobulin G (IgG), is one of the most abundant proteins in human serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/mL in adult blood. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions; to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 1011 variants.

Application
ELISA (Isotype) Analysis: A representative lot of this antibody detected whole molecule mouse IgG (IgG>>IgG2a>IgG>>>>IgG1) with minimal or no cross-reaction mouse IgA or IgM.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Based on ELISA analysis, this antibody reacts with whole molecule mouse IgG (IgG>>IgG2a>IgG>>>>IgG1) with minimal or no cross-reaction mouse IgA or IgM.
This antibody has been tested by ELISA and/or solid-phase absorbed to ensure minimal cross-reaction with Human IgG, Rabbit IgG, Rat IgG, Chicken IgY, Guinea Pig IgG, and Hamster IgG, but may cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species.

Fractionated by Octanoic Acid and Ammonium Sulfate cut and then depleted with Rat IgG column and Mouse IgA column.
Purified sheep Polyclonal serum in buffer containing PBS with 0.05% sodium azide.

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by ELISA using IgG antibodies from various species.
ELISA Analysis: This antibody detected 200 ng of mouse IgG antibody among a panel of IgG antibodies from various species.
