Biochem/physiol Actions
小鼠食欲素A 最近已经报告了几种与进食行为有关的肽。 食欲素（食欲素-A和食欲素-B）是在下丘脑中选择性表达的下丘脑神经肽家族（Sakurai et al.1998）。 食欲素-A和食欲素-B通过蛋白水解裂解衍生自相同的前体（前体-食欲素）。 前体食欲素是一种130 aa的肽，具有假定的33 aa分泌序列，疏水核心，其后是带有小极性侧链的残基。 在脑中检测到该表达，在睾丸中检测到很小程度的表达（Sakurai et al.1998）。 这些神经肽结合并激活两个密切相关的食欲素受体-G蛋白偶联受体（GPCR）OX1R和OX2R。
